International Patients

Dr. Fernandez-Miranda treats patients from around the world at Stanford Health Care. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a complex brain, skull base, or pituitary tumor, we can help — regardless of where you live.

Patients travel from across the globe for conditions where surgical expertise is the most critical factor in outcomes. Dr. Fernandez-Miranda has treated patients from most US states and 56 countries, and has performed over 4,000 cranial operations. He is ranked by Expertscape as a World Expert (top 0.05%) in Skull Base Surgery. Many patients come to us after being told their case is inoperable, too risky, or after unsuccessful surgery elsewhere. Our commitment is to provide every patient with an honest evaluation and, when appropriate, the highest level of surgical care available.

How to Request a Consultation

Getting started is simple. You do not need a referral. Our process is designed to be accessible for patients anywhere in the world.

Step 1: Submit Your Case - Complete our online consultation form with your medical history and current diagnosis. Include your name, location, contact information, and a brief description of your condition.

Step 2: Be ready to share your Imaging - Upload or send your MRI and CT scans. We accept digital imaging files (DICOM format preferred) via secure email or file sharing. If you need help with this, our team will guide you.

Step 3: Expert Review - Dr. Fernandez-Miranda will personally review your case and imaging studies. You will receive an honest assessment of your condition, treatment options, and whether surgery is recommended.

Step 4: Schedule Your Video Visit - If surgery is indicated, our international patient coordination team will help you plan your trip to Stanford, including appointment scheduling, travel logistics, and local accommodations.
